IS JESUS CREATOR OR CREATURE

IS JESUS CREATOR? OR CREATURE?

In the name of God most Merciful and Beneficent.
It is being promoted vastly in now a days that Jesus is Creator of this world therefore one should believe Jesus to be Creator God himself. What the reason for most of the people fell in to this misconception is that- some verses spoken by Paul were mistaken by the present day’s preachers for Jesus is Creator himself.

THE STATEMENTS OF PAUL THAT WERE MISTAKEN FOR JESUS IS CREATOR HIMSELF.
According to the following verses spoken by Paul in metaphoric manner what the contention of so many preachers is that Jesus is Creator himself of whole universe.

Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things -1Corinthians 8:6

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. –Colossians 1:15, 16

Before going in to the further discussion if we observe the above verses two question may be raised as follows.

. Did Paul ever believe that Jesus himself has created the whole universe?

                                      Or

. Did he believe that God alone has created the whole universe through Jesus?

According to the parts of the verses mentioned in the above that- “All things were created through Him” “through whom are all things” it is made clear that Jesus is not the direct Creator of all things! And according to the statement that “there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things” it is clear that Paul believes Jehovah as Creator God and according to another statement that “All things were created through Him” it is made clear Paul believes that Jehovah has Created all things through Jesus means he did not believe that Jesus directly created all things.

THE STATEMENT OF PAUL THAT DECLARES JESUS IS NOT THE CREATOR HIMSELF OF ALL THINGS!
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He (Jehovah) made the worlds. – Hebrews 1:1-2

On careful analysis of the above verse it becomes clear that “through Jesus He (Jehovah) made the worlds.” This means Jehovah has created worlds but was not created by Jesus or Jesus does not have any part in the Creation of the worlds.

IF ANYTHING WAS CREATED BY SOMEONE, CAN ONE BE REGARDED TO BE THE CREATOR?
For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God (Jehovah). - Hebrews 3:3

According to the above verse whatever may be created by someone, but the Creator of all those things is God (Jehovah). Even though Jehovah may create anything by someone, but one cannot be regarded as direct Creator of those things. For example an eminent engineer has invented an advanced computer and ready to make it, and while he was making it he has used so many devices and tools. Having completed it he presented before the people. Then to whom the people recognize as the creator of that computer? Whether they recognize that engineer or to those devices which were used by him in order to make that computer?

Even though that engineer has used many of the powerful devices or tools to make the computer but the engineer can be regarded to be the Creator of that computer but the tools can in no way be regarded as the creators whether they be utilized while he created it.

WHATEVER MAY BE CREATED BY SOMEONE, BUT JEHOVAH WORKS ALL IN ALL!
And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. -1 Corinthians 12:6

We find one important point in the above verse that “God who works all in all.”  This means whatever activity may be performed by someone that is actually being worked by God Himself. So it does not matter, even if anything was created by someone, one cannot be regarded as the direct creator God of those things. Because there is the only one God He is Jehovah “who works all in all”
WHO IS THE CREATOR OF ALL IN THE VIEW OF PAUL? WHETHER JESUS? OR JEHOVAH?
But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God (Jehovah), who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them. – Acts 14:14-16

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God (Jehovah)! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?”  “Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. – Romans 11:33-36

Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: “God (Jehovah), who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. – Acts 17:23, 24

Yet for us there is one God (Jehovah), the Father, of whom are all things… -1Corinthians 8:6

I urge you in the sight of God (Jehovah) who gives life to all things… 1 Timothy 6:13

On careful analysis of the above verses it is crystal clear that Jehovah is the Creator of universe in view of Paul. However according to the Colossians 1:6 verse those that assume that Jesus is the Creator of all things they should observe two important points. Those are…
1). Jesus never have proclaimed that I am the Creator but he proclaimed that Jehovah is the Creator of all things.
2). Entire verses of the Bible unanimously proclaim that Jehovah alone has created the whole universe but he did not depend upon anybody’s help or power or knowledge while He was creating the universe.

DID JESUS EVER SAY THAT HE HAS CREATED THE WHOLE UNIVERSE?
But from the beginning of the creation, God (Jehovah) ‘made them male and female. – Mark 10:6
At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father (Jehovah), Lord of heaven and earth… - Matthew 11:25

On careful analysis of the above verses the below points are come into the light to be examined closely.

1). Jesus proclaims that- “God (Jehovah) ‘made them male and female” and “(Jehovah), Lord of heaven and earth.” But Jesus does not say as “from the beginning of the creation I have created the male and female.” And Jesus says that “Father the Lord of the heaven and earth” But he does not saying as “I am the creator of the heaven and earth!” However preaching as “Jesus is the creator” can be regarded as the quite against to the bible.

DID JEHOVAH PROCLAIME THAT HE ALONE HAS CREATED THE ALL THINGS? OR DID HE PROCLAIM THAT JESUS AND HOLY SPIRIT ALSO INVOLVED IN THE CREATION?
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, WHO STRETCHES OUT THE HEAVENS ALL ALONE, WHO SPREADS ABROAD THE EARTH BY MY SELF. –Isaiah 44:24

There is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other; I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things. – Isaiah 45:6, 7

Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has stretched out the heavens. – Isaiah 48:13

He (Jehovah) has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens at His discretion. When He utters His voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens: “And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries. – Jeremiah 10:12, 13

You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. – Nehemiah 9:6

Thus we can see in so many verses that nobody has involved in the creation of God. And we cannot find anywhere that Jesus or Holy Spirit have involved while the whole universe was created by Jehovah. But Jehovah alone has created everything on the earth and heavens.

JEHOVAH ALONE HAS CREATED THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE WITH HIS WORD!
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. – Hebrews 11:3

This means the worlds have been created by the word of Jehovah which can be seen in the starting chapter of the book of Genesis.

JESUS ALSO WAS CREATED BY THE SAME WORD OF GOD!
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

“Jesus was begotten of Father” means Jesus also came in to existence by the word of Jehovah but Jehovah did not incarnate or Jehovah Himself has born in the form of Jesus. To say in clear terms just as how the whole creation has come in to existence by His word that “Let there be”, in the same way when He intended to create Jesus without the biological father, Jehovah releases His word or “order”, then what happened after the nine months “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”

JESUS WAS ALSO CREATED BY GOD – THE TESTIMONY OF PAUL!
From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God (Jehovah) raised up for Israel a Savior- Jesus. – Acts 13:23

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him (Jesus) who is begotten of Him (Jehovah). – 1 John 5:1

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels… - Hebrews 2:9

Thus we can see in the above verses that Jesus also nothing but a mere creature of God.

IS THE “WORD OF GOD” CAN BE REGARDED TO BE JESUS HIMSELF?
What the contention of some preachers is that- Jesus is the word of God himself! Jehovah has created everything by His word then why cannot we say that Jesus also the creator of all things? Those who preach like this they must observe the following verse.

And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ… - Revelation 1:1, 2

If we observe the above verses we find John to have introduced “the word of God” and “Jesus Christ” separately. If Jesus is the word of God himself could John ever have introduced “the word of God” and “Jesus” separately? This means it is made clear that Jesus is not the word of God himself.

WHAT IS THE REALITY OF THE STATEMENT THAT “ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY JESUS?”
Those that imagine that Jesus is the Creator of all things should observe the below points.

1). To be frank, Jesus did not proclaim anywhere in his whole ministry that the all things were created by me. Moreover he proclaimed that Jehovah has created the whole universe (Mark 10:6, Matthew 11:25).

2). And Paul in so many places given the testimony that Jehovah has created the all things without depending upon the power or knowledge or help of anybody but God has created everything with His own knowledge and power. Observe this same point again in the following verse.

3). Importantly Paul has proclaimed that Jesus was born by Jehovah (Acts 13:23)

If this be the truth, how can it is supposed to be correct by many of the preachers to proclaim Jesus has created the all things so Jesus is the Creator!? But here one question is remained that what for it has been preached by Paul in some verses that “All things were created by Jesus?”

The appropriate answer for this question is that- we have observed in the earlier passages that- “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God (Jehovah). - Hebrews 3:3

According to this verse whatever may be created by someone, the Creator of all those things is God (Jehovah). To say in clear terms whatever may be created by someone that has been actually created by God. Paul makes clear this point saying as- “God who works all in all.” So whatever miracle may be performed by anyone and whatever thing may be created by someone but God works in all in all. No one body can create himself anything with his own power whether he may be Abraham or Isaac or Moses or Jesus. The same thing is proclaimed by Jesus as follows.

Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. – John5:19

I can of myself do nothing. – John 5:30

As a matter of fact according, to the above verses Jesus can do nothing by himself. Therefore what is the reason for Paul preaching as- “All things were created by Jesus?” metaphorically is that- To make people clear that Jesus is mere a device or tool in the hand of the God. Because the then Jews have rejected to believe Jesus as Messiah. In that context, Paul has tried his level best to make them accept Jesus as Messiah according to the so many prophecies. However, they rejected to believe him so. Therefore to make them believe Jesus somehow, he started to exalt his status tactically before the Jews saying as “he is the first born of God” “he is image of God” “Christ the power of God” “he has an unchangeable priest hood” etc., In the same manner, Paul used to exalt his status by saying as- “All things were created by Jesus?” This is nothing but the new technique of Paul so as to make people incline towards Jesus.

But what important to note is that even though Paul has exalt his status by preaching as above statements tactically to make people believe Jesus, he never have given a single statement anywhere in his fourteen epistles as- “Jesus is Creator or he is God” or “he is the incarnate of God” or “one of the gods in the Trinity” as is being proclaimed by the todays preachers by reading those statements of Paul wherein he exalted the status of Jesus.

IF PAUL WERE BELIEVED JESUS TO BE GOD, COULD HE EVER HAVE PROCLAIMED THAT JEHOVAH IS GOD OF JESUS?

Finally if anyone is having some doubt that Jesus is the Creator God they have to observe that Paul has proclaimed that Jehovah is the God of Jesus as follows.

…that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. –Romans 15:6

…the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. –Ephesians 1:17

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. – Ephesians 1:3

If Paul has believed Jesus as Creator of all things or one incarnate of God how could he proclaim that Jehovah is the Creator of worlds and He is the God of Jesus? When Jesus is having the God up on him it is no doubt that he also was created by God such as the other human beings. Why we believe Jehovah as our God? Because we have been created by Him. In the same way when Paul has believed that Jehovah is the God of Jesus this means Jesus is nothing but the one of the creatures of Jehovah. Therefore according to the so far discussion made in the light of Bible we arrive at the conclusion that Paul has proclaimed metaphorically about Jesus as ““All things were created by Jesus?” just because of making the then people to accept Jesus as Messiah sent by God, but it is not his intention to make them believe Jesus as God or Creator as against to the prophecies of Bible. May God give us the knowledge to understand these points revealed so far. -Amen
